The course will utilize current federal and state regulations, principles of adult learning, ideas and resources for supplemental lessons and best practice approaches to Certified Nurse Assistant training with a focus on person-centered techniques. It also requires specific skills which promote observation, interventions, individualization, resident choice, safety, and in general the overall well-being of the residents the CNA cares for. Becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant requires a basic knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, body systems and the impact of aging on those systems. These skills are taught with a holistic approach to include the impact on physical, psychological, social, ethnic, cultural, and environmental influences on the residents continued overall well-being. The Certified Nurse Assistant will develop skills, attitudes and concepts which are essential to developing the Certified Nurse Assistant. ![]()
